Dimensions are approximate and vary slightly by container. Weight allowances are what the flat rate includes before overage applies.

FAQs

Sizing questions

What size dumpster do most Duluth homeowners rent?

The 20 yard is the most popular, but the 15 yard is the most under-ordered — plenty of people book a 20 when a 15 would have done. Describe the job on the phone and we will tell you honestly.

Why is a smaller dumpster better for concrete?

Because you pay for weight as well as space. A cubic yard of broken concrete runs roughly a ton, so a 10 yard box reaches the legal road weight limit while it still looks half empty. Putting concrete in a 30 yard does not get you more capacity — it gets you a box we cannot legally lift. See concrete and heavy debris.

How much driveway space does a dumpster need?

Allow the container's own length plus about 5 feet behind it so the rear door can swing open, and a straight approach of roughly 60 feet for the truck with 10 to 12 feet of width. The truck also needs vertical clearance well above the box height while it is being tipped off, so watch low branches and overhead service drops.

Can I switch sizes after I have booked?

Up to the point the truck is loaded, yes — just call (218) 514-6269. Once it is delivered, swapping means a pickup and a fresh delivery, which costs more than getting it right first time. That is exactly why we spend a couple of minutes on sizing before we book anything.

What happens if I fill it above the top?

We cannot legally haul an overfilled container — the load has to sit level with the top rail so it can be tarped. If it is heaped, the driver will have to leave it until it is leveled, which wastes a trip for both of us. Load heavy and flat at the bottom, break down bulky items, and fill the voids.
